Air-fry Chicken Thighs and Breast

I will show you how to cook chicken thighs and breasts in the Instant Pot Duo Crisp.

You will need:

  • chicken thighs or chicken breast
  • salt, pepper, and paprika – for seasoning (or you can also use your favorite chicken seasoning)
  • oil, for greasing the basket and try

Procedure:

  1.  Place a sheet of baking paper on the bottom of the cooker base.
  2. Place the basket then the tray. I recommend to grease them first before using.
  3. Place the chicken then place and lock the air fryer lid.
  4. Air fry chicken breast for 20-25 mins. Chicken breast is done when its internal temp. reaches 75C/165F. Air fry chicken thighs for 25-30 mins.
  5. Turn the chicken (the machine will tell you when to turn the food).
  6. Close and lock the lid again. Then instant pot will resume the cooking on its own.
  7. Once done, remove it a tong to a serving plate.
  8. Serve with rice or with creamy baked potatoes.

Air-fry Dorado / Tilapia

If you are in a hurry, here is a quick, crispy tilapia recipe for you.

You will need:

  • 1 whole dorado or tilapia
  • salt

Procedure:

  1. Using kitchen paper pat dry the clean fish. With a sharp knife, divide the whole tilapia into two then mark the each fish parts with 2 slits.
  2. Rub salt all over the fish including the insides.
  3. Place a sheet of baking paper on the bottom of the cooker base. Place the steam rack and the prepared fish then lock with the air fryer lid.
  4. Air fry for 40 min. 200C/392F. Turn the fish (the machine will tell you when to turn the food).
  5. Transfer into a serving dish and enjoy with rice. 😊

Air-fry Pork strips

Here’s how to get pork strips crispy.

You will need:

  • Pork strips season with rock salt

Procedure:

  1. Place a sheet of baking paper on the bottom of the cooker base.
  2. Place the multi level air fryer basket then the broil/dehydrating tray. Greased it with vegetable oil first, for easy cleaning.
  3. Place the pork strips then place and lock the air fryer lid.
  4. Air fry for 25 min. 200C/392F
  5. Remove with a tong to a serving plate.
  6. Serve with rice or with boiled potatoes and parsley sauce.

Bolognese Sauce with Sausages

Instant pot bolognese sauce that is perfect for a weeknight dinner without hours and hours of simmering. 😉

You will need:

  • cooking oil
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 3 – 4 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 500 grams ground meat
  • sausages, sliced
  • salt and pepper
  • your favorite bolognese seasoning

Procedure:

  1.  Place the cooker base, add cooking oil then click the Saute button and set to 10 minutes.
  2. Once hot, add sausages and saute for 5 to 8 minutes. Transfer it into a plate then set aside.
  3. Click the Cancel button, and click the Saute button again and set the timer for 20 minutes.
  4. Once hot again, saute onion and garlic until translucent and fragrant.
  5. Add ground meat and saute until no longer pink.
  6. Add pasta sauce and seasoning, stir then close the pot with Pressure cooking lid. Click the Pressure button (high), close and lock the lid. Turn the steam release to Sealing and set the timer to 5 minutes.
  7. Release the pressure and move it to Venting position. Wait to open until the floating valve goes down.
  8. Serve with pasta.

Chicken Adobo

I used my chicken adobo recipe for this Instant Pot adobo. 😉

You will need:

  • 1 whole chicken, cut into small parts
  • 1 cup white vinegar + 2 tbsp for later
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 6 whole peppercorns or 2 tsp ground pepper
  • 1 head garlic, crushed
  • 3 pcs bay leaves
  • cooking oil, for frying
  • 2 tsp sugar, optional
  • 2 boiled eggs, optional
  • 1 spring onion optional, for garnishing

Procedure:

  1. The day before cooking the chicken. Take a large bowl and combine chicken, soy sauce, garlic, vinegar, black pepper, and bay leaves. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours and up to 2 days. Take note the longer time you marinate the chicken, the better.
  2. Transfer the chicken adobo with marinade in the instant pot cooker base. Close using the Pressure cooking lid and lock the pot. Click the Pressure button (high), close and lock the lid. Turn the steam release to Sealing and set the timer to 15 minutes.
  3. Release the pressure and move it to Venting position. Wait to open until the floating valve goes down.
  4. Transfer the chicken adobo and serve immediately with steamed rice. Enjoy! 😊

Chicken Stock

This homemade pressure cooker stock is easy, quick, and hassle-free. It’s also rich in nutrients and healthier than the shop-bought one!

You will need:

  • whole chicken about 1.3kg
  • 2 big onion, chopped
  • 8 cloves of garlic, chopped
  • 1 ginger, peeled and sliced into strips
  • 4 tbsp fish sauce
  • 1 chicken broth cube
  • 6-8 L water, just enough to cover the chicken but not passing the chicken breast

Procedure:

  1. Add all the ingredients in the pot.
  2. Pour enough water to cover the chicken but not passing the chicken breast.
  3. Place the lid, close and lock.
  4. Click the Pressure cook button (high) then turn the steam release to Sealing. Set the timer to 25 minutes.
  5. Release the pressure and move it to Venting position. Wait to open the pot until the float valves goes down.
  6. I use the broth for making homemade chicken noodle soup or use it for cooking. The meat I use for making salad. 😊

Mashed potatoes and carrots

Hassle-free and easy, Instant Pot mashed potatoes and carrots. 😉 You need this quick and seriously delicious approach to this classic side dish today!

You will need:

  • 500 grams potatoes, peeled and cut into coarse cubes
  • 2 medium-sized carrots, peeled and cut into coarse cubes
  • 20 grams butter
  • 75 ml milk
  • salt and pepper
  • pinch of ground nutmeg, optional

Procedure:

  1. Place the potatoes and carrots into the bowl of your instant pot. Add enough water just to cover them.
  2. Cover and set the lid to sealing.
  3. Pressure cook on high heat for 10 minutes, followed by a quick release.
  4. Drain the potatoes and carrots. Transfer back into the pan, add the butter, milk, salt and pepper.
  5. Use a hand mixer and mash everything together until the potatoes and carrots reach your desired level of smoothness. Add extra milk if the mixture seem too dry.
  6. Serve warm.

Pork stew with sausages

This instant pot pork stew with sausages, carrots, and mushrooms is a filling meal, perfect for a weeknight dinner. Cooking under pressure makes this a hassle-free dinner.

You will need:

  • 500 grams porkloin, cut into 1” thick
  • olive oil
  • 1 medium-sized onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 250 grams mushrooms, halved
  • 100 grams small sausages
  • 2 medium-sized carrots, peeled and cut into bite size
  • 1 red bellpepper, sliced into strips
  • 2 tsp paprika
  • 1 can crushed tomatoes
  • 70 grams tomato paste
  • salt and pepper
  • 250ml heavy cream or milk
  • 250ml water
  • 1 beef broth cube

Procedure:

  1. Place the cooker base, add olive oil then click the Saute button and set to 10 minutes.
  2. Once hot, saute onion and garlic until translucent and fragrant.
  3. Add meat and saute for 5-8 minutes.
  4. Now, add the rest of ingredients and stir.
  5. Close the pot using the Pressure cooking lid, click the Pressure button (high), close and lock the lid. Turn the steam release to Sealing and set the timer to 25 minutes.
  6. Release the pressure and move it to Venting position. Wait to open until the floating valve goes down.
  7. Serve and enjoy with steamed rice or mashed potatoes.

Pork Sinigang

My first take on traditional Filipino comfort food – Pork Sinigang in the Instant Pot.

You will need:

  • 800 grams to 1 kg pork loin or pork belly, cut into 2” cubes
  • 1 medium-sized onion, quartered
  • 4 medium-sized tomatoes, quartered
  • 1 small radish, peeled and sliced, optional
  • 150 grams string beans or sitaw
  • 1 pack of spinach or dahon ng sili
  • 2 finger chili, optional
  • 2 packs of Sinigang mix
  • 3 – 4 tbsp fish sauce
  • 6 – 8L water

Procedure:

  1. Place the cooker base and add all the ingredients except spinach then stir.
  2. Close using the Pressure cooking lid and lock the pot. Click the Pressure button (high), close and lock the lid. Turn the steam release to Sealing and set the timer to 25 minutes.
  3. Release the pressure and move it to Venting position. Wait to open until the floating valve goes down.
  4. Add spinach and cook for a minute.
  5. Serve and enjoy with steamed rice.

TikTok Pasta with feta and tomatoes

Totally delicious and full of flavor, baked feta pasta with chicken is a quick and easy dish that can be made in the Instant Pot.

You will need:

  • 300g chicken breast, sliced into bite-sized
  • olive oil
  • 1 red onion, minced
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • salt and pepper, to season
  • pasta of your choise
  • chicken broth or water, just until it cover the pasta
  • cherry tomatoes
  • feta cheese
  • sun-dried tomatoes, optional

Procedure:

  1. Place the cooker base, add olive oil then click the Saute button and set to 10 minutes.
  2. Once hot, saute onion and garlic for 2 minutes or until fragrant and translucent.
  3. Add chicken then season with salt and pepper. Saute for 8 minutes or until no longer pink.
  4. Add the other ingredients – broth or water, pasta, feta cheese, sun dried tomatoes then season again with salt and pepper.
  5. Close the pot using the Pressure cooking lid, click the Pressure Cook button (high), close and lock the lid then turn the steam release to Sealing. Set the timer to 5 minutes.
  6. Release the pressure and move it to Venting position. Wait to open the pot until the float valve goes down.
  7. Serve and enjoy.
