You will need:

  • 1 tbsp olive or cooking oil
  • 200 grams red sausage
  • 1 medium-sized onion, chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, finely chopped
  • 1 carrots, shredded
  • 500 grams ground beef
  • salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 glass store-bought spaghetti sauce
  • 50 ml milk
  • 2 tbsp ketchup
  • 1 tbsp sweet mustard

To serve

  • dried and uncooked penne pasta
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • fresh parsley, chopped (optional)
  • grated cheese

  1. Cook penne according to package directions, drain well and return the pasta to the hot pan, put 1 tbsp butter (to avoid pasta from sticking together), then cover to keep warm.
  2. Meanwhile, heat oil in a huge skillet or saucepan, cook sausages until lightly brown, then set aside.
  3. Using the same pan, add some oil, then cook onion and garlic over medium-high heat until softened and fragrant. Then add carrot and cook for 1 minute.
  4. Then add ground beef to the pan and cook the meat until brown—season with dried oregano, salt, and pepper.
  5. Add the spaghetti sauce, milk, ketchup, and mustard and allow it to simmer for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  6. Serve over penne and sprinkle some grated cheese and fresh parsley.
